Contemporary Textiles Exhibition - Open Call

The deadline for this opportunity has passed, and no more submissions are being accepted. Fronteer Gallery are looking for textile artwork by artists from across the UK for our exhibition Contemporary Textiles. There is no theme for this exhibition, and artists are welcome to submit work on any subject they like as long as it is a textile piece or related to textiles. Artists from across the UK are welcome to submit work in any medium, except audio or video works and wall-mounted work can be any size or shape but should take up no more than 70x70cm of wall space. Sculptural work should fit on a 30x30cm plinth and should not exceed 50cm height x 30cm x 30cm. Artists are invited to submit 1 piece of work for the exhibition. You may provide a short description of no more than 150 words, which will be displayed alongside the work. The exhibition will run from 18th February - 6th March 2025. There will be a private view event on Saturday, 15th February 4-6 pm. Please note the gallery is upstairs, and there is no disabled access. Artists from all backgrounds are invited to submit one piece of work each. It is free to apply with only successful artists paying a fee of £40. In return for your fee, you will get an event evening with free drinks which you are welcome to bring friends and family along to, invigilation throughout, and promotion of the exhibition online through social media posts. The submission deadline is 22nd January 2025. Successful artists will be contacted shortly after the deadline. Successful artists are welcome to send their work by post. Work sent by post should reach us by 6th February 2025 at the latest. Artists are also welcome to deliver work in person to the gallery during gallery opening hours between 28th January - 6th February 2025.
