Residency

Artist In Residence - MMAG Foundation

MMAG Foundation
Deadline: February 27, 2025

About This Opportunity

At the core of this program is a commitment to facilitating meaningful exchange—whether it be through dialogue, collaboration, or feedback—between artists, mentors, curators, and an interdisciplinary community. With a strong emphasis on growth and support, the residency aims to create a platform for creative practitioners to take bold steps in their work while gaining invaluable insight from a network of diverse perspectives. Open to artists working across all disciplines—including the visual arts, writing, cultural or art-based research, sound art, moving image, and performance—the program considers the varied needs of contemporary creative practices. The 8-month residency program will be tailored to each resident’s practice, and will include regular meetings engaging participants with a diverse group of visiting artists, curators, and the broader mmag community, ensuring ample opportunities for networking, cross-pollination of ideas, and collaborative exchange. As part of their residency, artists will also work closely with the program team to develop and curate a series of public-facing events, ranging from workshops and talks to screenings and performances, offering them the chance to share their evolving work with both the public and their fellow residents. Seasonal open studios will provide additional occasions to engage with the wider community and share progress throughout the residency period. The residency will host a maximum of 10 artists, selected on the basis of their motivation, previous experience, their past work, and the strength of their proposed project.
