2027 Call for Proposals for Indigenous Community Media
About This Opportunity
The Indigenous Community Media Fund (ICMF), part of Cultural Survival’s Community Media Program, is issuing its 2027 Call for Proposals to support initiatives by Indigenous organizations, collectives, and media outlets. The fund aims to strengthen freedom of expression, access to information, and community awareness through media projects such as radio, television, print, digital, mural art, and photography. Eligible applicants include Indigenous community radio stations, networks, collectives of communicators (including women, youth, and 2SLGBTQ+ members), and other Indigenous‑managed media platforms across Africa, Asia, the Americas, and North America. Proposals are accepted from July 21 to August 9, 2026, with a free online application process via Cultural Survival’s grant platform. Selected projects will receive funding (amount varies) for implementation from March to October 2027, covering costs such as equipment, production, capacity‑building, and mentorship. Interviews with shortlisted candidates will be held in November 2026, and award notifications will begin December 15, 2026.
Restrictions
Indigenous organizations, collectives, or media outlets (radio stations, networks, muralists, photographers, print, TV, digital platforms). Eligible regions: specific African, Asian, Central/South American, and North American countries listed on the page. Preference for initiatives led by women, youth, and 2SLGBTQ+ Indigenous people.
