Tangent Projects

Tangent Projects is a curatorial initiative and independent artspace located in Barcelona, Spain. The residency program invites emerging and mid‑career artists—both national and international—to develop site‑responsive exhibitions and projects across multiple media, including visual arts, performance, and publications. Residencies typically last three months, with the possibility of extending up to six months, and grant participants 24‑hour studio access, communal areas such as a kitchen, reading room, and relaxation spaces. While the program encourages experimentation and collaboration with curators, gallerists, and other practitioners, it does not provide housing or a stipend; applicants are responsible for accommodation and living expenses. The application process is rolling, with no fixed deadline, and applicants are asked to pay a residency fee of €120 per month. The program is open to artists at the emerging and mid‑career stages, with no age or nationality restrictions beyond the artist’s status as a practicing visual artist.
