SCHOLA NOVA is dAS_de Arte Saltandi choreography training and tutoring course aimed at dancers and choreographers. (CET) dAS SCHOLA NOVA is articulated in 18 sessions (in 9 weekends) with international artists, from October 2026 to May 2027 in Piacenza, Italy. In continuity with dAS’s ethos, the 2026-27 focus is site-specific creation, especially devised for unconventional spaces and in dialogue with the place. 2026/27 teachers: Riccardo Buscarini (AD), Scott Jennings, Rodia Vomvolou, Livia Massarelli, Gabriela Tropia. The training starts from the basis of choreographic composition and continues with an exploration of contemporary dramaturgy, site-specific adaptation (re-staging) and psychophysical wellness in dance. This edition also includes a focus on new technologies. Tutoring/coaching is available for the participating students’ works-in-progress. The mentoring process for individual projects is also meant for creating possible future collaborations with dAS Festival (every year, mid September). At the end of the course, there will be a site-specific performance at a venue of historical and artistic significance in the centre of Piacenza. The course is taught both in Italian and English.
