REMIXEZ UNE LÉGENDE : Réinventez l'héritage de Latif Karimov

The Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum in Baku, in partnership with HUG, invites artists worldwide to reimagine the legacy of Latif Karimov (1906–1991), a pioneer of Azerbaijani carpet art. The call encourages transformation rather than replication, asking artists to use Karimov’s visual language as inspiration for original works in digital illustration, animation, generative art, AI-assisted media, or experimental visual storytelling. Submissions must be a single original concept or completed artwork, accompanied by a short artist statement (max 300 words). Selected pieces will be displayed on a monumental LED screen (1920 × 1080 px, 480 cm × 288 cm) inside the museum during Fall 2026, alongside historic carpets. Each winner receives a $100 award. The call is open to all artists; however, only those with a published or pending Artist Profile on HUG are eligible for selection. Submissions close on 22 Oct 2026 at 12:00 GMT‑4.
