Terra Firma Press offers a Printmaking Artist in Residence (AIR) program designed to support emerging and established artists working in print‑based media. The residency is based in the historic, light‑filled printshop in the centre of Maastricht, Netherlands, and includes a private, recently renovated apartment in the nearby village of Berg en Terblijt. Residents have access to three etching presses (including a large‑format Veenendaal press), a Whelen press, a Conrad “baby” press, cutting tools, rollers, brayers, a community kitchen, and digital equipment such as a Mac Studio, scanner and medium‑format inkjet printer. The program encourages community engagement through artist talks, workshops, open studio days, and optional guided workshops (available for an additional fee). Residencies can range from one week to one month or longer, allowing artists to develop a new edition, series of monoprints, or explore hybrid processes. The location provides easy travel to cultural sites across the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Germany. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis for Spring, Summer, and Fall sessions in 2027. No application fee is required.
