Exposition folklorique « Salt of the Earth » - Appel à candidatures

Fronteer Gallery, located in Sheffield’s Orchard Square, is calling for submissions to its upcoming exhibition, "Salt of the Earth," which explores local folk customs and culture across the British Isles. The call is open to UK‑based artists only and welcomes works in any medium except audio or video. Artists may submit up to three pieces, each of which must fit within specified size limits: wall‑mounted works may not exceed 25 cm × 25 cm, while 3‑D or sculptural works must fit on a 30 cm × 30 cm plinth and not exceed 35 cm in height. The exhibition will run from 10 to 20 September 2026, with an opening event on 9 September. Successful artists will be invited to a private view with free drinks, and their works will be promoted on the gallery’s social media channels. While the gallery offers free entry, disabled access is limited. Selected artists will pay a £20 fee per piece and will receive a 10 % commission on any sales. The submission deadline is 24 August 2026, and works must be delivered by 3 September 2026. The gallery is located at Unit 4, Orchard Square, Sheffield, South Yorkshire S1 2FB.
