Résidence artistique « Salt Road Studio »

The Salt Road Studio Residency invites artists from around the world to spend three weeks in the rural town of Ako, Japan, engaging in intensive studio practice and cultural exchange. The program provides round‑trip airfare, shared lodging, a dedicated studio space, and a living‑cost grant of $1,000 USD (≈¥150,000) to cover food, local transport, and personal expenses. Applicants are expected to commit to the full residency period and to collaborate with fellow participants. The residency is open to artists of any medium, with no age or nationality restrictions, and encourages those who are curious, committed, and eager to immerse themselves in a new environment. Applications are reviewed by a panel of curators and artists, and a $25 non‑refundable fee covers the administrative cost of the selection process.
