Jentel Artist Residency is a 3‑week residency program hosted by the University of Wyoming’s Neltje Center in Banner, WY. It invites visual artists, writers, and composers to immerse themselves in a supportive environment that balances solitude with community. Applicants must be at least 25 years old, U.S. citizens or residents, and not full‑time students. The residency offers a private studio, shared living area and kitchen, and a separate studio space. Residents receive a $300 stipend paid weekly to cover living and food expenses. The application fee is $30, non‑refundable, and a $100 reservation deposit is required after award notification. The program is open to artists at all career stages and does not discriminate on any protected characteristic. Applications are submitted online via Submittable, and the current cycle closes on September 15, 2026. The residency is recurring annually, with winter/spring and summer/fall sessions.

Restrictions
Anyone over 25 years of age who is a resident of the United States is eligible to apply. US citizenship is not required. Applicants enrolled full-time (9 hours or more) in a degree program at the time of proposed residency are ineligible for residency. Additionally, those in post-doc fellowships are welcome to apply.
