Toronto Arts Council’s Media Artists Program: Creation supports professional media artists who have an independent practice to develop new work or finish works in progress. Funding may be used for direct creation/production costs, materials, and post‑production. The program also offers an optional Accessibility Grant (up to $5,000) for artists with disabilities and application support funding (up to $500). Applications are submitted online via TAC Grants Online. The deadline for the 2026 cycle is October 15, 2026, with results communicated by the end of December. The program is open to Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons who have lived in the City of Toronto for at least one year. Applicants must be professional artists with a public record of work and must retain full copyright and creative control. Collaborative proposals are allowed, with one principal applicant. The maximum grant amount is $15,000 CAD.

Restrictions

Applicants must be professional artists and meet the following criteria: A professional artist is someone who has specialized training in the field (not necessarily in academic institutions), who is recognized as such by their peers (artists working in the same artistic tradition), who has a history of public presentation, publication and/or production and who is committed to devoting more time to their artistic activity if financially feasible.
