La malterie

La Malterie is a non‑profit artist resource centre located in Lille, France, that offers a residency programme for visual artists and performers. The programme is designed as a research and creation space where artists can work on projects of their own choosing while engaging with a community of peers and professionals. Residencies last between three weeks and two months, and participants receive a 300 m² studio on the top floor of the former industrial building, equipped with sound, light and video infrastructure. The centre also provides access to a silkscreen studio, a full‑time staff member and other team members who can support administrative and legal matters. In addition, La Malterie covers travel and accommodation costs for residents and offers a research and production grant, as well as opportunities for public sharing through exhibitions or events. The programme is open to visual artists and performers who are working on artistic research or the realisation of a project. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with no fixed deadline. The application process is free of charge. The residency aims to foster professional development, networking and the exchange of ideas within the European art scene.
