Programme de subventions pour l'envoi d'artistes et de spécialistes culturels

The Japan Foundation’s Grant Program for Dispatching Artists and Cultural Specialists offers partial financial support for Japanese artists and cultural specialists who are invited by foreign institutions to participate in cultural events overseas, such as performances, demonstrations, lectures, and workshops. The program covers international travel expenses and carriage (baggage/freight) for projects taking place between April 1 2027 and March 31 2028. Eligible applicants include individuals or groups based in Japan who have received invitations from foreign organizations, as well as Japanese organizations that arrange and produce such projects. Projects funded by Japanese government grants or by Japanese diplomatic missions alone are excluded. The maximum grant awarded in FY 2026 was approximately JPY 4,000,000. Applications are submitted electronically through the Japan Foundation’s Online Application Portal by midnight on December 1 2026. The program is recurring annually and is open to artists and cultural specialists across all disciplines within the arts and cultural fields.

Applicants must be based in Japan and invited by foreign organizations; organizations based in Japan arranging projects; projects cannot be funded by Japanese government grants or by Japanese diplomatic missions alone.
