The El Cerrito Creative Reuse (ECCRU) Artist Residency, approved by the El Cerrito Arts and Culture Commission, supports local artists who work with recycled materials and promotes environmental stewardship. The 2026 call invites artists residing in El Cerrito, Richmond, Kensington, Albany, or Berkeley, who are at least 18 years old and committed to up‑cycling, to apply for a nine‑month term (extendable to 12 months). Selected artists receive a total stipend of $2,500 paid in two installments, access to materials at the City’s Recycling + Environmental Resource Center, an on‑site storage bin, and assistance with a final exhibition. Applicants must submit a resume, exhibition list, up to ten images (and optional video/audio), a two‑page proposal, and three professional references via the online application form.
