The Creative Professionals Talent Recruitment Initiative is a partnership between Appleton Downtown, Inc., the Trout Museum of Art, and gener8tor Art, supported by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation Talent Recruitment Grant. The program is designed to attract and relocate creative professionals—including visual artists, musicians, performers, makers, filmmakers, creative entrepreneurs, arts administrators, and cultural workers—to Appleton and the Fox Cities region. Selected participants may receive a $10,000 grant for their creative practice, a $2,500 relocation stipend, relocation assistance, housing support opportunities, subsidized studio or creative workspace, professional development programming, mentorship, and networking opportunities. Applicants must currently reside outside Wisconsin, meet all eligibility requirements, successfully complete the application and interview process, and commit to relocating to Appleton or the Fox Cities region if selected. The initiative aims to recruit and relocate approximately 20 creative professionals over its life, fostering a vibrant creative ecosystem in the region.
