Appel à candidatures « Art Crossing » – Art Crossings n° 4 et n° 5

The City of Olympia is seeking an artist or artist team to develop site‑specific artwork for two projects (Art Crossing #4 – Harrison/Division and Art Crossing #5 – Henderson/Eskridge) as part of the Olympia Art Crossings Project. The commission is open to artists with a connection to Olympia, Washington, and strongly encourages local artists. Applicants must submit a letter of interest, eight digital work‑sample images, an annotated image list, and three professional references through the online application portal. The selected artist(s) will receive a $55,000 budget covering design, engineering, lighting, fabrication, transportation, insurance, artist’s fee, taxes, and travel; the City will handle site preparation and installation. The artwork must be durable, suitable for diverse audiences, and have a minimum lifespan of twenty years. The deadline for applications is Tuesday, December 8, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. The call emphasizes inclusive participation and excludes City staff, Arts Commissioners, selection panel members, their immediate families, and artists who have previously completed an Art Crossings project.
