Obras Residencies is an international artist residency located near the village of Évoramonte in Portugal’s Alentejo region. The three‑week program offers artists and researchers private accommodation (individual apartments or cottages), dedicated studio space, utilities, limited Wi‑Fi and access to shared communal areas. Residents are responsible for travel, materials, food and health insurance, while meals are partially provided during communal dinners and an informal artist talk is encouraged. The residency is self‑directed with no prescribed outcomes; participants determine their own schedule and work pace. The call welcomes emerging and established practitioners across a wide range of disciplines, including visual arts, writing, music, film, architecture, performance and research‑based practices. Applications are submitted individually via an online Google Form; groups or couples may apply together but must submit separate forms. The deadline for this edition is 29 December 2026, after which the residency will run for three weeks (with flexibility up to eight weeks). No application fee is required. The residency is open to artists of any nationality and career stage.
