Art Start’s Emerging Artist Residency (EAR) for 2026‑2027 is a seven‑month program based at Art Start Studios NYC (526 West 26th St, Suite 10A, New York, NY). It is open to emerging artists ages 16‑24 of any background or medium. The residency is split into two tracks: EAR 1 (ages 16‑20) focuses on exploring creative practices, career pathways, and building a process portfolio, meeting twice a week; EAR 2 (ages 20‑24) emphasizes developing a cohesive body of work for a collaborative gallery exhibition in April 2027, meeting once a week, and includes mentorship of EAR 1 participants. Participants receive studio space, hands‑on workshops, community studio time, networking events, art‑focused field trips, and career‑exploration activities. The program culminates in a public exhibition of EAR 2 work. No application fee is required.
