Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation, Inc. (AILEY) seeks part‑time West African musicians to accompany dance residencies through its Arts In Education & Community Programs (AAIE), including AileyDance Kids, AileyCamp, AileyDance for Active Aging, and National Outreach. Musicians serve as accompanists to teaching artists during residencies held at schools, community centers, hospitals, and the Joan Weill Center for Dance. Assignments vary from a single‑hour workshop to multi‑week residencies with multiple daily classes. Compensation is on a per‑class basis; travel within the NYC metro area is reimbursed. Applicants must have professional expertise in West African percussion, be available during school hours, after‑school hours, and occasional evenings/weekends, and obtain NYC Department of Education fingerprint clearance. The role is part‑time and may involve occasional national or international travel.
