Convocatoria abierta de VIS n.º 18 – «ON / OFF SCREEN»

VIS – Nordic Journal for Artistic Research, a digital open‑access journal co‑run by Stockholm University of the Arts and the Norwegian Artistic Research Programme, announces Open Call #18 on the theme “ON / OFF SCREEN”. The call seeks artistic‑research expositions that interrogate the screen as a surface, filter, barrier or portal, using media such as image, sound, movement, composition, animation or other forms. Submissions may be in Swedish, Norwegian, Danish or English and must be original, with any textual component limited to 4 000 words. Applicants must create a draft exposition in the Research Catalogue (RC), which requires a free full‑account registration (account setup may take 1–2 working days). The exposition draft is submitted via the VIS portal in RC and will undergo peer review; selected works (seven per issue) are further developed and eventually published in the journal. Participation is free of charge; there is no monetary prize or stipend, but authors gain publication, peer‑review feedback, and visibility within the Nordic artistic‑research community. The deadline for proposal submission is 11 November 2026, 23:59 CET. The call recurs with each journal issue, making it a recurring competition.

Publication of the selected exposition in the VIS Nordic Journal for Artistic Research, peer‑review process, free participation, exposure to an international artistic‑research audience.

Open to artistic researchers worldwide. Submissions may be in Swedish, Norwegian, Danish or English. Expositions must be original (not previously published) and may not exceed 4 000 words of text. Applicants must register a full account in the Research Catalogue.
