TOKYO BIENNALE
Acerca de Esta Oportunidad
Tokyo Biennale’s “Social Dive 2027” open call seeks proposals for art projects or artist‑in‑residence production plans that engage with the neighborhoods, history, and communities of Tokyo. The theme “From ‘Me’ to ‘Us’” encourages participants to explore personal experiences while fostering dialogue with local residents. Applicants may be individuals or groups (with a single representative) and must be at least 18 years old, able to conduct research, residency‑based production, and present outcomes in Tokyo. Selected projects will be developed across eleven diverse sites throughout the city, ranging from historic temples to modern commercial districts. The program offers substantial support: travel expenses up to JPY 300,000, accommodation in Tokyo, project development funding up to JPY 200,000, a JPY 100,000 honorarium, interpretation and translation assistance, and an invitation letter. Applications are submitted in English or Japanese via an online form, requiring a portfolio, project summary, budget, schedule, and other supporting materials.
