Festival de Cannes
Acerca de Esta Oportunidad
The Résidence, hosted by the Festival de Cannes, invites young non‑French filmmakers to dedicate four‑and‑a‑half months to the development of their first or second feature‑length fiction film. Each year the program runs two sessions: March 15–July 31 and October 1–February 15. Applicants must be under 35, have produced one or several short films and no more than one feature, and must not be French residents or citizens. They must also have a short film or first feature selected at a Category A festival (e.g., Cannes, Berlin, Venice, Toronto, etc.) and be fluent in English or French. Candidates may apply no more than three times. The application requires a treatment pack (minimum 10 pages), synopsis, statement of intent, mood board, CV, proof of identity, and links to previous work. Successful applicants receive professional support, individual script development, transition‑to‑production advice, collective forums with industry professionals, and accommodation in Paris for the duration of the session. The next session (53rd) runs from March 15 to July 31 2027, with applications open until September 30 2026. The residency is free to apply and offers a structured environment for writers to focus on their projects while engaging with industry experts.
