The Setouchi Triennale 2028, organized by the Setouchi Triennale Executive Committee, is seeking proposals for site‑specific artworks, performances, and projects that engage with the local resources, nature, history, and culture of the Seto Inland Sea islands. Applicants may propose indoor or outdoor installations, music, dance, theatre, puppet or shadow‑play performances, as well as community‑oriented projects such as food initiatives. Selected proposals (approximately 5‑10) will receive a production subsidy of up to about 2,500,000 JPY, with the possibility of temporary on‑site residence during the exhibition period. The application period runs from 1 October 2026 to 30 October 2026. An application fee of 1,500 JPY per proposal is required.
