Residencia artística subvencionada en Islandia 2027 | CUSP

The Funded Artist Residency Iceland 2027, organized by the National Gallery of Iceland in collaboration with the trans‑national CUSP (Creative Understanding, Saving and Preserving Time‑Based Media Art) project, invites international artists whose practice engages with complex media, emerging technologies, or digital processes to apply for a four‑week residency in early 2027. The residency focuses on preservation research and public engagement: each resident will work alongside museum professionals and a specialist in time‑based media conservation, develop a public Open Lab workshop or masterclass, and contribute to the broader CUSP objectives of documenting and sustaining contemporary media artworks. Applicants must submit an artistic statement, motivation letter, proposal for the public workshop, portfolio and CV. The call is open to artists residing outside Iceland who are citizens or residents of EU member states, EEA countries, and other Creative Europe participating nations. The deadline for applications is 3 September 2026 (23:59 GMT). Selected artists receive accommodation, a dedicated workspace, a travel and subsistence stipend, an artist fee, and possible access to specialised hardware and software. The residency culminates in a public presentation of the artist’s research and practice, fostering dialogue between creators, conservators and audiences.
