The Recycled Material Art Contest is an event organized by the Office of Sustainability at Tennessee Tech University. Participants are invited to create an artwork using only 100% recycled or trash goods, with optional non-recycled items such as glue, paint, and screws allowed as accessories. Entries can be submitted individually or in groups and may be original or inspired works, provided credit is given for non-original pieces. Submissions are made digitally via a Google Form and must be physically brought to the Sustainability Day Celebration for display and judging. The contest includes a judged vote and a people’s choice award. Judging criteria include visual impact, creativity, composition/design, craftsmanship, and a bonus category. Winners are announced on October 16, 2026, with prizes awarded. The event is open to students of Tennessee Tech University.
