Acerca de Esta Oportunidad
Space A’s Kathmandu International Artist‑in‑Residency (KIAR) 2027 offers immersive, interdisciplinary residencies in the cultural heart of Kathmandu, Nepal. Artists from any discipline – visual arts, performance, music, writing, new media, curating, film, theater, architecture, and more – and at any career stage are welcome to apply. The program provides a private bedroom (suite or normal) with attached bathroom, shared rooftop studio, two studios, ceramic kilns, internet, kitchen, and weekly laundry service. Residents may organise workshops, give talks, and exhibit their work, and can opt for a seven‑day trekking experience (participants cover trekking costs). Two residency lengths are available: 30 days (1 month) or 60 days (2 months), with up to three artists selected per session. Application deadlines for the Spring, Summer, and Autumn periods are all 21 August 2026, making the call recurring annually. Applicants submit an application form, artist statement, CV, recent work links, project plan (200 words) and passport copy via email. No application fee is required; however, artists cover travel, supplies, daily expenses, food, health insurance, and the residency fee (USD 900‑1000 for one month, USD 1700‑1900 for two months, depending on room type). The residency is family‑friendly, with companion accommodation available at a modest daily rate. The program promotes cultural exchange, research support, and connections with Nepal’s artistic community.
