Programa de Artistas en Residencia de MQ (MQ AiR) 2027

The MQ Artist-in-Residence (MQ AiR) 2027, organized by MuseumsQuartier Wien in partnership with the ERSTE Foundation, invites artists and curators working in critical contemporary visual art from Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine to a two‑month residency in Vienna. The residency provides a studio/living space at the MuseumsQuartier, a €1,300 monthly stipend, a €300 travel grant (or €500 for non‑EU participants), and opportunities for meetings and exchange. Applications are accepted until 15 September 2026 (24:00) and must include a digital application form, a letter of intent (max 5,000 characters) and a one‑page CV. Selected participants will be notified by the end of October 2026 and will reside in the studio during the country‑specific periods in 2027. Pets are not permitted. The call is part of an annual programme and includes a special two‑month grant for a participant from Ukraine.

€1,300 monthly stipend, €300 travel grant (€500 for participants from outside the EU), studio/living space at MuseumsQuartier, meetings and exchange opportunities.

Open to artists and curators working in critical contemporary visual art from Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Ukraine. Prior participants of this residency or other ERSTE Foundation programmes are not given priority.
