Convocatoria para artistas: Proyectos de arte público del sendero de Escondido Creek
City of Escondido
Acerca de Esta Oportunidad
The City of Escondido, through its Public Art Commission, is seeking proposals from qualified artists or multidisciplinary teams to create permanent public art works themed ‘Flora and Fauna’ along the Escondido Creek Trail. The project comprises four types of artworks: a sculpture, a large mural on the Neighborhood Health Care building, a series of three to five murals inside the creek channel, and a wrap‑around mural on a field‑lighting control box. Artists may apply for one or multiple pieces, with awards ranging from $1,500 for the control‑box mural to $150,000 for the large mural, and up to $30,000 for the sculpture. All selected works must be installed by May 30 2027 and the artists are responsible for five‑year maintenance. The call is open to artists residing or having a business in the United States, Canada, or Mexico, with no residency preference. Submissions must include a completed application, CV, portfolio, drawings, and a brief artist statement, and are due by September 8 2026 at 5 p.m. PST. The award provides significant financial compensation, public exposure, and the opportunity to contribute a lasting cultural asset to the community.
