Acerca de Esta Oportunidad

The OUT Residency, created by the Kokopelli Art Foundation as the programmatic arm of Kokopelli Gallery, offers a small cohort of artists a focused, two‑week intensive production period in Lagos, Nigeria. Edition I, titled Our Story First, runs from 25 August to 7 September 2026, with a public exhibition opening on 11 and 12 September. The residency is designed for output under rigorous conditions, providing studio space, mentorship, and production support, and culminates in an exhibition opportunity. Eligibility is limited to artists of African origin or heritage—whether based on the continent or in the diaspora—who have a minimum of two years of sustained artistic practice. There are no restrictions regarding age, academic background, medium, or career stage. Applications are free of charge and no credit‑card information is required. Selected residents must be present in Lagos for the full duration of the program. While housing and travel support are not explicitly mentioned, the residency provides the essential resources needed to develop new work. The deadline for applications is 17 September 2026.
