Petrichor Art & Literary, a nonprofit indie press, is launching its new digital journal The Drop and is seeking visual art submissions for its inaugural October 2026 issue. The call is explicitly dedicated to trans, nonbinary, and queer creators rooted in Kansas and the greater Kansas City metropolitan area. Artists may submit one to three images (JPG, PNG, etc.) at a resolution of 300 dpi or less; higher‑resolution files may be requested if selected. The cover‑issue deadline is August 21 2026, while general visual‑art submissions close on September 30 2026, after which the call will remain open for future considerations. No application fee is required. Selected artists will receive permanent online placement in an inaugural showcase, nomination for the Best of the Net award, high‑resolution tear‑sheet PDFs, artist spotlights, a press‑kit, and a linked profile to their website or socials. Submissions are managed via Duotrope, with further guidelines available on the press’s website.
