Acerca de Esta Oportunidad

The International New Media Art Competition is the central element of the New Media Week program and invites professional artists and practitioners working in new media art to submit works in five categories, including installations, moving image, media performance, technological objects, and research prototypes. The 2026 edition’s theme is “Adaptive Breathing”. Submissions are accepted from May 4 to June 30, 2026. A jury selects a shortlist, whose artists are invited to present their works at the Silesian Museum in Katowice for an exhibition running from September 30 to October 11, culminating in an awards ceremony on October 2. Prizes include €10,000 for 1st place, €7,000 for 2nd, €5,000 for 3rd, and a €5,000 audience award. The organizer covers travel, accommodation, and, when needed, artwork transport, and provides production and technical support. Eligibility requires participants to be at least 24 years old as of May 4, 2026, to be professional artists, and excludes projects linked to the Russian Federation or the State of Israel. Diploma projects are not eligible. Applications are submitted via an online form, and the competition is open to individual creators working in the field of new media art.
