The Bard College Conservatory of Music is hiring a full‑time Managing Director for its US‑China Music Institute (USCMI). The role provides administrative, operational, and financial oversight for all USCMI activities, supporting academic programs, performances, festivals, conferences, and institutional partnerships. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred) and possess administrative experience in higher education, arts administration, or nonprofit cultural organizations, along with budgeting and financial management skills. Strong organizational, project‑management, and communication abilities are required, as is the capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Preferred experience includes working in a conservatory or performing‑arts environment, grant writing or fundraising, familiarity with Chinese music or international cultural programming, and Chinese language skills. The position offers a $70,000 annual salary and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, a TIAA retirement plan, generous vacation and sick leave, and other employee perks.
