KAGANHOTEL Artist-in-Residence is a residency program located in Kyoto, Japan, that provides artists with studio space, shared living facilities, and a supportive environment for creation and research. Applicants must be able to respect communal living rules and be able to conduct their own production or research during the stay. Participants receive a rent subsidy (¥79,000/month for the two‑month program, ¥49,000/month for longer stays) plus utilities, and an initial fee (¥22,000 for the two‑month program, ¥88,000 for longer stays). The residency includes studio space, access to a gallery and lounge for exhibitions, and support from staff for production and living matters. There is no monetary stipend or travel support, but the program provides a conducive environment for artistic practice and networking with other residents.
