Nottingham Youth Orchestra
Acerca de Esta Oportunidad
Nottingham Youth Orchestra (NYO), a leading UK youth music charity founded in 1985, is recruiting new volunteer trustees to support its symphony and jazz orchestras across Nottinghamshire and the East Midlands. The trustees will provide strategic leadership, financial oversight, human‑resources guidance, recruitment and retention support, community partnership development, and artistic/creative direction. No prior trustee experience is required; NYO welcomes first‑time trustees alongside experienced board members and will provide induction and ongoing support. The role is a three‑year renewable appointment, involving approximately six board meetings per year, preparation work, and occasional attendance at concerts and events. Applicants should have experience or a strong interest in finance, HR, recruitment, community partnerships, or artistic development. The position is unpaid, though reasonable expenses may be reimbursed. To apply, candidates must submit a CV and a covering letter (max two pages) outlining their motivation, relevant skills, and area(s) of interest. Applications are accepted immediately and must be received by 7 September 2026. Interviews are scheduled for the autumn term 2026. This volunteer board role offers the chance to influence the strategic direction of a respected youth orchestra, develop governance skills, and contribute to the cultural life of the Midlands.
