LEA (Lab of Experimental Art) is a contemporary art hub in Madrid that runs two residency formats. The Stays program invites artists to share a 200‑square‑meter workspace, rotating shifts, and a community of peers for a minimum of six months, with the possibility of extension after annual review. The Full‑Time Residency provides a dedicated 15‑square‑meter studio for three months, with full‑time hours and access to the same facilities. Both formats include a well‑equipped laboratory, a gallery space for experimentation, a library of contemporary art, and a living/meeting room for social interaction. Artists receive mentorship, workshops, and opportunities for exhibitions and networking with galleries, museums, and patrons. The program supports emerging artists under 35 with a 40% discount on Stays and 10% on Full‑Time Residencies, and offers a patronage program to help cover fees. Applications are submitted as a PDF dossier with a work portfolio and an experimental project, sent by email. The residency is open year‑round with no fixed deadline.
