Exposición colectiva de artistas emergentes, verano de 2027
Smack Mellon
Acerca de Esta Oportunidad
Smack Mellon invites submissions for a summer group exhibition to be guest‑curated by Alma Chaouachi. The open call is inspired by a 2010 public installation by Vishal Rawlley in Delhi and asks artists to consider site‑specificity, infrastructures, systems, and conditions that prompt a work to become a site for collectivity. All media and vernacular forms are welcome, including technological systems, instructions, objects, photographs, sculptures, film, drawings, and sound pieces. Applicants may submit up to three images, up to two video excerpts (max 3 minutes each), an image list PDF, a brief artist statement PDF, and a current CV PDF. Selected artists will be notified in March 2027 and will receive a small stipend determined by the curator. Smack Mellon provides exhibition space, an art‑handling team for installation and de‑installation, but does not cover shipping, transportation, or production costs. Artists must be residing or working in the greater New York City area and must not be enrolled in a degree‑seeking program. The call is limited to emerging artists as defined by early‑career criteria. The exhibition will take place in the summer of 2027.
