EL SPACE is launching the Mediterranean Futures Residency 2026, an international open call for five artists, designers, researchers, and creative technologists to join a two-month residency in Tunis and Sidi Bou Said, Tunisia. The residency brings together practitioners whose work sits at the intersection of cultural heritage, memory, and emerging technologies, offering focused research, experimentation, and exchange in one of the Mediterranean's most culturally rich environments. Residents will work from the Creative Hub Sidi Bou Said, located inside the historic Ennejma Ezzahra Palace, with access to the digital fabrication facilities of EL FABSPACE Lac. The residency runs from October 1 to November 30, 2026, with results announced on July 30, 2026. Applications are open to emerging and established artists, designers, architects, creative technologists, researchers, and interdisciplinary practitioners based in Europe or holding European citizenship. The residency provides travel support, accommodation, meal support, production and fabrication access, and curatorial mentorship. There is no application fee.
