The Oakland Museum of California (OMCA) is seeking a Deputy Director of Curatorial Affairs to shape and execute the museum’s exhibition and collection strategy. Reporting to the Director & CEO and serving on the Senior Directors Council, the role oversees the Curatorial, Collections, Design, and Production departments, guiding a team of roughly 70 employees. Responsibilities include developing a comprehensive content calendar for temporary exhibitions and collection initiatives, budgeting, strategic planning, and community engagement. The Deputy Director will lead cross‑departmental collaboration, support fundraising and grant development, and ensure the museum’s programs reflect equity, community voice, and the diverse history of Oakland and California. The position requires 10+ years of senior museum leadership, at least 1 year of supervisory experience, and a Master’s degree in a relevant field. Compensation is $225,000 annually, with standard benefits. The application deadline is September 30, 2026.
