Gasworks is offering an eleven‑week, fully funded residency for an early‑career contemporary visual artist based in East Africa. The residency runs from 7 April to 22 June 2027 in London and provides 24‑hour studio access, single‑room accommodation in the Residency House, economy return flights, visa costs, a weekly stipend of £175, a materials budget up to £800, a prepaid travel card for zones 1‑2, studio visits, an Open Studio event, access to basic tools and AV equipment, a dedicated residency page, and extensive networking and curatorial support. Applicants must be based in one of the UN‑defined East African countries, have presented work in several venues, be early‑career, and have a moderate level of spoken English. Duos, collectives, partners or children cannot be accommodated. The application deadline is 28 September 2026 (1 pm UK time). Applications are submitted digitally via an online form and must include a PDF portfolio, CV, and statements.
