Convocatoria abierta para encargos - London Youth Opera

London Youth Opera (formerly W11 Opera) is seeking proposals from composer‑librettist teams for its 2028 and 2029 opera commissions. Each commission results in a one‑hour opera performed by around 50 young singers (aged 9‑18) and an ensemble of about eight musicians, supported by a professional production team. Four performances are scheduled for the second weekend of December in a London theatre. Selected works receive a commission fee of £16,000 and the opportunity to have their opera staged and recorded. The call is open to composers and librettists of any nationality, with no explicit age or residency restrictions, though the work must be suitable for youth performers. Applications are submitted through the London Youth Opera commissioning portal. The deadline for submissions is 1 December 2026. This is an annual commission window, making the opportunity recurring each year.

Commission fee (£16,000), professional production team, performance venue in London, exposure to audiences, recording opportunity.

Open to composer‑librettist teams; works must be suitable for youth performers (ages 9‑18). No nationality or residency limits stated.
