Acerca de Esta Oportunidad
The Chevening British Library Southeast Asian Fellowship is a 12‑month, project‑based programme co‑funded by the British Library and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office. It is open to mid‑career professionals who are citizens and residents of Cambodia, Laos or Thailand, hold a postgraduate qualification (or equivalent professional experience), and have at least five years of relevant research or professional experience. Fellows will work at the British Library in London, collaborating with the Henry Ginsburg Curator and the Southeast Asia collection team to survey, assess, and create metadata for 600‑800 early printed works (c.1840‑1950) in Cambodian, Lao and Thai scripts. The fellowship provides living expenses for the duration, return economy airfare, and an allowance of up to £1,000 for approved project‑related costs. Fellows will gain specialist expertise in metadata creation, curatorial practice, and conservation, and will be expected to produce a blog post or journal article, present findings publicly, and engage with heritage communities. The programme starts in September 2027 and ends in September 2028.
