Convocatoria de propuestas: Instalaciones artísticas en Yonge + St. Clair para el Festival DesignTO 2027

The Yonge + St. Clair Business Improvement Area (BIA) partners with DesignTO Festival to commission seven site‑specific art installations that will be displayed throughout the Yonge + St. Clair neighbourhood in Toronto during the 2027 DesignTO Festival (January 22–31, 2027). Artists, architects, designers and multidisciplinary creators may propose medium‑to‑large scale installations for one of the listed lobby, window or gallery sites. Selected projects receive a funding package of CAD 5,000–7,500 (inclusive of HST, artist fees, materials, fabrication, transportation, installation and de‑installation), power supply or other on‑site infrastructure assistance, and promotional exposure through DesignTO’s marketing channels, guided walking tours, artist talks and neighbourhood programming. Proposals must be submitted as a single PDF containing artist information, an executive summary (500–1,000 words), visual concept material, a detailed line‑item budget and a current résumé. Submissions are accepted electronically via email or Dropbox link by 5 pm ET on Sunday, September 13, 2026. Preference is given to artists residing in Toronto or the Greater Toronto Area, but the call is open to emerging and established practitioners working in any medium. The commission is a one‑off project; no housing or travel support is provided, though the BIA may assist with power and basic infrastructure. The call is part of an annual series of public‑art commissions linked to DesignTO, making it a recurring opportunity.

Funding (CAD 5,000–7,500), exposure through DesignTO marketing, guided tours, artist talks, power supply and on‑site infrastructure assistance.
