Residencia «Arthurdale Weavers»

Arthurdale Heritage announces its first Weavers Residency, a two‑week program running March 1 – March 14 2027 for emerging Appalachian weavers. Residents will have full access to the Loom Room, which houses historic floor looms, rigid‑heddle table looms, and inkle looms, and will stay in a historic cottage within walking distance of the Loom Room. The residency includes a $1,000 stipend, a required two‑hour public weaving workshop (to be approved by Arthurdale Heritage), and a presentation at the Arthurdale Fiber Guild meeting on March 13. Applications open October 1 2026 and close December 31 2026. Eligible applicants must be born in or reside in Appalachia, be emerging weavers with limited professional experience, be able to teach a two‑hour workshop, and agree to present their work at the guild meeting. Transportation costs are the responsibility of the artist. The nearest major airport is Pittsburgh, PA, and the nearest city is Morgantown, WV. Accommodations are provided in the historic cottage.
