Acerca de Esta Oportunidad

ARTCEB (Art Center Botopasi) in the interior village of Botopasi, Suriname, runs an International Residency Program that invites artists from around the world to work in a remote forest setting. The residency is offered twice a year: August‑September (application deadline 15 April 2026) and January‑February (application deadline 15 August 2026). Each stay lasts approximately two months and includes a private studio, a private bedroom with mosquito net and hammock, three meals per day, potable water, outdoor workspace, and access to the local community. Artists receive exhibition space in Botopasi with costs, publicity and opening covered by the host. The program covers daily expenses (€45 per day) for food, supplies, and staff (cook, wash‑woman, hosts). No stipend is provided, but ARTCEB offers a letter of invitation to support external funding applications. Eligibility requires an academic background and at least three years of independent professional practice; a separate track is available for students or recent graduates. Applicants must pay a €15 registration fee and submit an online application with CV, work samples, and a work plan. The residency aims to foster cultural exchange, artistic experimentation, and professional development in a unique rainforest environment.
