Theater Mu, the largest Asian American theater company in the Midwest, is hiring a Managing Director to work in partnership with the Artistic Director and Board of Directors. The role oversees all administrative functions, financial planning, fundraising, grant management, marketing, and organizational leadership as the theater enters its 2026‑2029 strategic cycle. The position is full‑time, admin‑exempt, with a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends as needed. Compensation ranges from $82,000 to $102,000 annually, dependent on experience, and includes health, dental, retirement benefits, and paid time off. Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience), at least five years of senior leadership experience in a nonprofit or performing‑arts organization, proven donor cultivation success, and familiarity with financial management software such as Bill.com, Gusto, or QuickBooks. Preferred candidates have 7‑10+ years of experience, a master’s degree, and experience with unionized environments.
