5-50 Gallery is pleased to announce an open call for artists to be considered for upcoming exhibitions and programming during the 2027-2028 season. We are seeking artists to join the 5-50 gallery program. We are particularly interested in painting that expands what the medium can do, whether through its capacity for narrative, its material experimentation, or its ability to push the language of painting forward and suggest new directions for the form. We are interested in learning more about artistic practices where formal, conceptual, or material decisions feel intentional and resolved, and where the work holds its own logic rather than relying on familiar approaches or established trends. Whether through personal narrative, political urgency, formal experimentation, or conceptual rigor, we are drawn to work that is specific in its thinking, confident in its execution, and capable of sustaining attention over time. Artists working in all mediums are encouraged to apply. Selected artists may be considered for solo exhibitions, group exhibitions, art fair presentations, and other future opportunities through the gallery. Application requires: 3-5 images of artwork, title, medium, dimensions, and year for each work, artist statement, and current resume/CV. 5-50 Gallery is a gallery/curatorial project space located in a former stone carving business in Long Island City, Queens, NYC, focusing on emerging and mid-career artists.
