Wege-Preis

The Wege Prize 2027 invites transdisciplinary teams of up to five university students from around the world to design products or services that address complex, ‘wicked’ problems through the lens of the circular economy. The competition runs in four phases—Apply, Design, Refine, and Present—providing structured feedback from professional judges at each stage. Teams must include at least three academic disciplines and represent at least two institutions. All participants must be enrolled full‑time in an undergraduate, graduate, or post‑graduate program. The prize pool totals $65,000, with $30,000 awarded to the first place, $15,000 to second, $10,000 to third, and two finalist awards of $2,500 each. Applications are accepted online until 4 October 2026. The awards ceremony will take place in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on 21 May 2027. The competition offers a global learning laboratory experience, mentorship, and professional judge feedback, but does not provide housing or travel support.
