Über Diese Gelegenheit

The Walker Youngbird Foundation and the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Massachusetts, have launched the Walker Youngbird Native Artist Residency, a four‑week program beginning May 23, 2027. The residency provides one Native visual artist with a private studio (300‑500 sq ft), a private apartment, access to print, Risograph, and wood shops, staff support, and a public culminating event tailored to the artist’s practice. A $2,500 stipend is included. Applications open on October 26, 2026 and close on December 4, 2026. Eligibility is limited to Native visual artists who are members of a U.S. federally or state‑recognized American Indian tribe, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, or a recognized First Nation in Canada, aged 18 or older, residing in North America, and available for the full residency period. The program welcomes partners and family members, provides accessible housing options, and integrates the resident into a community of 15‑20 other artists and writers. The residency aims to give artists dedicated time and space to experiment, build professional relationships, and advance their practice.
