Über Diese Gelegenheit

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center’s Travis Bogard Artist in Residence Program provides a focused, solitary working retreat for playwrights, scholars, critics, and established theatre artists who are developing or transitioning their practice. Fellows are invited to stay at Tao House, the historic National Historic Site in Danville, California, for a flexible period of one to three weeks between April 1 and October 31, 2026. While on site, residents receive off‑site housing and meals at the San Damiano Retreat Center, local transportation (including airport transfers), Wi‑Fi, printer access, and unrestricted use of the extensive Tao House library and archival collections. Applications are free and must include a CV, three references, and a project description. The deadline for the 2026 cohort is November 1, 2026, with selections announced by March 15, 2027. The program is funded by the Eugene O'Neill Foundation and operates in cooperation with the National Park Service.
