The Residency at Casa Gràcia is a newly launched program on the island of Menorca, Spain, conceived by artists Rashid Johnson and Sheree Hovsepian and supported by Hauser & Wirth Menorca. Open to visual artists and writers from around the world, the residency provides a self‑directed retreat that encourages deep reflection, creative development, and meaningful engagement with the local community. Each year, five places are awarded: three visual artists for residencies of up to three months and two writers for extended periods of up to six months. Residents receive studio space, living accommodations, utilities, weekly cleaning, and a modest stipend for some. The program is hosted in the historic Casa Gràcia building in Mahon, featuring a 300 m² studio, study, and a private walled garden.
